About Arunachala Goshala Trust
Arunachala Goshala Trust is born out of
love and devotion — a mission to protect
and care for India’s sacred indigenous
cows. Inspired by the spiritual guidance of
Swami Annamalai and led by one of
Annamalai’s attendants, our founder of the
Goshala Trust is GovindaRaj, a young
family man with over 15 years of cowherding
experience.
Our initial goal is simple: to provide a safe,
loving home for cows in the spiritual town of
Tiruvannamalai.
Every cow is a living embodiment of the
divine — a symbol of nourishment,
strength, and spiritual energy. They deserve
dignity, care, and respect.
But our work goes beyond shelter for cows.
We support rural communities by
empowering farmers and artisans through
cow-based livelihoods. We promote natural
farming using cow-derived fertilizers and
traditional, sustainable methods; and
through these efforts, we aim to revive a
way of life that is in harmony with nature
and preserving India’s spiritual and
agrarian roots.
